Global Medicare Delegation Conducts Health Education and Career Mentorship at Sakura Girls Secondary School

Sakura Girls Secondary School this week hosted a professional medical outreach delegation from Global Medicare, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic education, student well-being, and the advancement of girls in science and leadership.

The visiting team comprised Dr. Arisa, Dr. Noel, and Mr. Ito (medical student), accompanied by a female student (gender and councelling) from the University of Dar es Salaam. The delegation conducted structured health education sessions designed to equip students with critical knowledge on preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, nutrition, and adolescent health management — all essential components of academic success and long-term personal development.

The program featured interactive discussions that allowed students to engage directly with medical professionals, fostering openness, confidence, and informed health decision-making. The sessions were carefully tailored to address issues relevant to adolescent girls within a boarding school environment, strengthening awareness and promoting responsible health practices.

In addition to health education, the delegation delivered a focused motivational lecture encouraging students to pursue careers in medicine, nursing, and other health-related disciplines. By sharing professional experiences and career pathways, the team provided practical insight into the academic rigor, dedication, and leadership required within the medical profession. The engagement served to broaden students’ aspirations and reinforce the value of excellence in science education.

This initiative is fully aligned with the mission of Sakura Girls Secondary School to nurture young women into future leaders while promoting strong academic performance in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Exposure to practicing healthcare professionals enhances the educational ecosystem by connecting classroom learning with real-world application and professional mentorship.

The collaboration with Global Medicare represents a strategic contribution toward the school’s long-term objective of strengthening girls’ access to quality education and expanding opportunities in high-impact professional sectors. Partnerships of this nature are instrumental in shaping confident, informed, and ambitious young women prepared to contribute meaningfully to national and global development.

Sakura Girls Secondary School expresses its sincere appreciation to the Global Medicare delegation and the representative from the University of Dar es Salaam for their valuable engagement and commitment to advancing student health education and career inspiration.
