Savannah Vision Tanzania (SVTa) believes that meaningful and lasting change is built through collaboration. We welcome volunteers, interns, researchers, students, and professionals who wish to contribute their skills, knowledge, and experience to improving educational opportunities, strengthening sustainable livelihoods, promoting environmental stewardship, and supporting community resilience among rural and indigenous communities in northern Tanzania.
Our work is rooted in close collaboration with Maasai communities in Monduli District and Hadzabe communities in the Yaeda Valley near Lake Eyasi. Through community-led initiatives in education, sustainable beekeeping, environmental restoration, youth empowerment, and livelihood development, we strive to create practical and sustainable pathways out of poverty while protecting the natural resources upon which communities depend.

Flexible Ways to Get Involved
Recognizing that volunteers have different circumstances, skills, and availability, SVTa offers flexible opportunities for engagement. Volunteers may contribute remotely from anywhere in the world, combine remote support with occasional field participation, or work directly alongside our staff and communities in Tanzania.
Remote volunteers play an important role in strengthening our organizational capacity and helping us expand our impact. We are particularly interested in individuals who can support grant writing, fundraising, donor engagement, monitoring and evaluation, communications, website development, social media management, research, finance, accounting, and organizational development.
For those interested in direct field engagement, opportunities exist in community development, environmental conservation, forestry, natural resource management, sustainable beekeeping, agroecology, education, youth empowerment, and community mobilization. These experiences provide valuable insight into community-led development while contributing to initiatives that generate tangible benefits for local communities.
International Volunteers and Interns
SVTa warmly welcomes volunteers and interns from Tanzania, the United States, Europe, Australia, and other countries who are interested in supporting locally led development initiatives while learning from the rich cultural heritage, environmental knowledge, and lived experiences of Maasai and Hadzabe communities.
Our work provides a unique opportunity to engage with community-based conservation, sustainable livelihoods, environmental restoration, indigenous knowledge systems, and rural education initiatives within one of Tanzania’s most distinctive social and ecological landscapes.
We also welcome university students seeking internships, field practical training, research placements, dissertation opportunities, or professional attachments. Students in natural resource management, forestry, environmental sciences, community development, agriculture, education, communications, information technology, finance, and related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.

Volunteer Support
As a grassroots non-profit organization, SVTa currently operates with limited financial resources and is therefore unable to provide salaries, stipends, or volunteer allowances. However, we are committed to providing a supportive and professional working environment for those who choose to contribute their time and expertise.
Depending on the nature of the assignment, volunteers may receive:
Office workspace at our headquarters in Monduli Town
Free internet access and office stationery
Field transportation during approved project activities
Breakfast and lunch during office working hours
